This was a good week. I managed to get myself another job and play a few times in the week. The last effort was in Guildford on Saturday night which didn't leave us with much time to get to Technosis. After much arguing, missions and garage stops, we managed to get on our way. The Lawns was lookin fluro'd up as ever and we were greeted by a smiling Justin Swales. We entered the main room to find Lunatik finishing his set off with and Acid Techno rendition of the Batman theme. The vibe, as ever, was properly happy and we bumped into a few regular faces before long. |
I've heard the Kolossus rig once before and I'd noted how meaty the bass was, but it didn't sound right when we fist arrived - this was explained when we found the sound guy lying on the floor behind the stack, with a girl lying underneath him. He duly sorted the sound out and it was back up to scratch in no time. Cookie took over from Lunatik and hit us straight away with a pounding selection. There was a lot of U.V. drapes around the place and a twister did the job nicely on the centre of the floor, it looked real purdy. |

One thing that always impresses me about Technosis is that it always pulls a good crowd, despite the fact it's in the middle of no-where!! This was to be no exception, plenty of people to talk to and plenty of things to catch up on. The crowd was varied as usual with a nice mix of people. We always seem to head to the car in the middle of night to go and chill out properley and end up missing bits of some really corking sets, and running my battery down. |
We headed back inside to catch Martian starting his set with some really hard Psy-Trance. Normally Mitchalist has them covered on this front, he didnt play but I did catch up wiht him right at the end. The dancefloor was still packed and there was some serious getting down being done by the usual smiley Technosis munters. The Psychedelic basslines where f**kin awesome and you coudn't help but to stomp about, that rig ain't called Kolossus for nowt, seriously chunky bass, could do witha bit of midrange to smoothen it but I ain't complaining. |

Martian finished off another wicked night at The Lawns for Technosis. The doorstaff were friendly as ever and there was no problems during the night. We always have a good time at Technosis and if you havent been and you're into Trance and Techno then I'd give it a go. It's a bit of a mission to get to but it's worth it, always a good selection of DJs and quality sound systems. The only thing I'd say is when it comes to 2am you want more, but you go away well happy and it's blatantly worth a fiver. Nice one Justin for the tickets and we'll see you again soon... |
