At
the Ambient Picnic we try to provide a wide range of music while
not being too all over the place. With more space we could cater
for an even wider spectrum of sounds, but within our current remit,
things are broken down into four main areas.
All
the bands on the Live Stage are essentially guitar-based, but within
that format we've tried to provide some variation in approach, from
old school rock to indie, from live funky hip-hop to punk, ska and
metal... this is the place to find "proper" bands making
a big loud noise....
Over
on the Acoustic stage, you'll find "proper" bands doing
things a little quieter, over in the back fields, with all the healers,
druids and shamen... this stage needs to be witnessed to be believed
- those of you who think acoustic equals wistful singer-songwriter,
think again.
In
the dance tent, we've done our damnedest to put our collective foot
down and limit the Psychedelic Trance, and to a degree we've succeeded...
Meanwhile,
for those of you in need of a sit down, some space, and a nice cup
of tea, the ITSy BITSy Chillout Cafe should offer some welcome sanctuary...
There
are no string quartets, and no boy bands, but hopefully there's
something for everyone!

will be poets on the itsy bitsy and acoustic stages... and there
will hopefully be a last minute headline on the live stage TBA !
and maybe one on the dance stage...
Live
& Direct Stage
The Live & Direct Stage will have young bands performing from
Ash, Godalming, Guildford and Haslemere. Live and Direct is an educational
and gig support network for young musicians, and potential musicians,
throughout Surrey focussing on ages 11 to 19.
The
project is supported by Youth Music, Rhythmix, Arts Partnership
Surrey, Surrey County Council, Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils,
Sound People and the Performing Rights Society.
